A historical account of early Florida, Palmetto Sunrise, follows the exploits of Frank and Martha O'Berry, and their son James Adolphus and their adventures as pioneers in the Florida wilderness of the late 1800s to early 1900s.

From their travels by ox cart, wrestling alligators, dealing with thieves and rustlers, the vindictive grudge of Zeke Blaikie, and a notorious conman, Clyde Boykin, the O'Berrys have their hands full.
