It is meant to foster worship and prayer based upon the inspired text. There are also pertinent cross-references to help direct a biblical focus for your prayers beyond just the psalms. Because Jesus Himself is now interceding for His people at the right hand of the Father, also included are short prayers that suggest how our Savior could be praying for His people in light of the truth revealed in the inspired text of Scripture.
