"Mr. Roberts," the voice on the other end of the line said, "I'm sorry to have to tell you this. Wendy Roberts peacefully passed away about eleven pm this evening. I'm very sorry." And with those simple words, the bottom dropped out of my world. I froze with the phone still in my hand. It couldn't be! This must be a dream! What was this woman saying? My Wendy, dead? That wasn't possible! I needed her, and she needed me. She couldn't leave me like this. But she had. The cancer had finally taken her, and so abruptly ended a wonderful marriage that had lasted thirty years. Now what was I to do? How could I go on? Why had God allowed this to happen? Over time, answers began to come, and I share them in the pages of this book. Most of all, I share two important things: (1) Lessons learned from this angel of a woman named Wendy Roberts, and (2) The hope that we are not alone in our tragedies and loss. No! Never Alone!
