On His mat in the grounds of the poor house, Jesus is playing with little wooden sheep, little wooden horses and some clear wooden shavings, less curly than His golden curls. With His little plum hands, He is trying to put wooden necklaces onto the necks of His animals. He is quiet, smiling and very beautiful. His little head is a mass of very thick little golden curls, His skin, clear and slightly rosy. His eyes, alive and a deep bright blue; two beautiful dark sapphires. He is wearing a white tunic reaching to His calves, with short sleeves and tied at the waist with a white cord. His tiny feet are bare because He has taken off His sandals and is using them as a cart for his animals, pulling the cart by the straps.
