Carraroe in Saxony Philip McDonagh

Dedalus reissues Philip McDonagh's much-praised debut collection of poems, first published in 2003. Philip McDonagh was born in 1952, attending schools in Dublin and Copenhagen, followed by university in Oxford. As a diplomat he has had postings throughout Europe, and between 1994 and 1999 he worked at the Embassy in London where he helped develop the Peace Process. More recently he has been Irish Ambassador in India. In 1989 he was one of a group of five poets included in the volume Dedalus Introductions. Carraroe in Saxony, his debut collection, was first published in 2003; an expanded volume has been published in India as Memoirs of an Ionian Diplomat. Philip McDonagh is currently Irish Ambassador in Finland.
