Sarah Chauncey Woolsey was an American children's author who wrote under the pen name Susan Coolidge. She is best known for her novel What Katy Did; the protagonist and indeed her family, that feature in the novel, are said to be modelled upon the author's own, with the character of Katy based on a young Woolsey herself. Woolsey also went on to write sequels to the above, entitled: What Katy Did at School and What Katy Did Next.
