The Shaman Trevor Oldham
The Shaman
Trevor Oldham
Stone-age Britain is on the brink of change. Tallstones, a novice shaman, leaves his home after the death of his father and forges an alliance with the tribe that lives by the lake. He then seeks instruction from their shaman, Bracken Snake. Under his new mentor, he learns how to access the world of the spirits denied to his fraudulent father. However, the Beaker People, who have arrived at the bay with their sophisticated new bronze tools and weapons and are exerting ever-greater influence in the region, have ceased to believe in the spirits. Tallstones's tribe follows suit and the novice shaman finds himself marginalised and eventually exiled from his own people. Seeking refuge at the lake, Tallstones must find a way to restore harmony and balance between his world and the world of the spirits before his way of life is gone for ever.
