One decision can change the course of your life forever. For Oliver Simpson, only child of wealthy Chicago parents, that decision is to defy his domineering mother and study botany, a passion for which he shares with his beloved father. A golden opportunity to further his research in the rainforest in Africa prompts him to leave behind all that is familiar and set sail for the Dark Continent. Longing to embrace the native way of life and determined to undertake an exploratory expedition into virgin jungle, he ignores the tales of cannibal natives, predatory animals and inhospitable conditions, but is ill prepared for the most dangerous challenge of all: the ability to navigate in the rainforest.
