It all starts peacefully enough when Ray and the girl he most admires are at a swish 'do' at the local Town Hall. A guest is called out by a police officer to identify his car, which has been driven away and damaged. One of the petty thieves, Tommy, goes on the run. But how does Tommy's fate become linked with a notorious gang of villains, responsible for the hijack of a van full of gold some years previously in a remote village in France? As the police become involved, it's clear they have some challenging detective work ahead. First they have to unravel the mystery of how Tommy gets injured. Next they must follow the clues that will lead to where the villains have stashed away their fortune. Will the police be in time to retrieve the hoard of gold or will the gang members, now released from prison, get there first?
