The title of the book gives indication of the theme developed throughout the book: that of threads weaved into the lives of individuals, by God, which would be a dominant feature in the pattern of their ministry as they traversed in this scene of time, and in their interaction with the social, political and religious events of the day in which they lived. The call to the people by Isaiah the prophet involved a need for willingness and obedience on their part, as a condition, to be able to 'eat the good of the land'.
