Set in the not-so-distant future, three individuals are thrown together when massive floods hit the British Isles. The story of their perilous journey is found recorded on the mobile phone of a mysterious 'narrator'.
The three men, all with polar opposite backgrounds, meet after the evacuation of London and find themselves adrift in a country submerged under water. As time marches on their masks slide, their personalities collide and tensions build. The unlikely trio wander around post-apocalyptic Britain in search of resources and sanctuary.
Gradually, the atmosphere switches from anger and conflict to recognising their mutual dependence. When they search for Danny's mother in the aftermath of the floods, some unexpected, shared purpose emerges.
But in a shattering conclusion, told by those who have listened to the 'journal', it seems there have been alternate truths which underlie the behaviours of these three unforgettable characters. The hope of reconciliation between the three hangs on which truth we choose to believe.
