Revisiting 'The Pilgrim's Progress'

Revisiting 'The Pilgrim's Progress', is my re-dreaming of John Bunyan's most famous dream. Bunyan is still loved worldwide, a jailbird who escaped. By and large, my dream is substantially his amazing dream.
This dream journey takes us from this world, and into that which is to come. It is not a fun story, but it has lots of danger, and joy, and reflection on some big themes of life.
Profoundly, sinners who become pilgrims become saints. But that can make life more difficult. One big question is, Is it worth it? One big temptation is, Turn back or turn aside. And if you see others do so, that makes it harder not to. Bunyan was tempted. And he discovered that not deserting, can lead to despair. But he also discovered a key to liberty.
Pre-eminently, it is a story of grace. Grace begins the journey, helps-often discreetly-along the way, and brings the story to a happily ever after. Are all fairy stories based on heaven?
