Parents' Guide to the Basics Manual K M MacPhee

This guide does not seek to take the place of the teacher, but to offer support and ideas for the use of parents and children at home, in order to re-inforce, and expand upon, the work done in school.

It asks that, at first, children should put aside their calculators, and work out answers independently, so that they clearly understand the actual processes of what they are doing.

Regular, daily practice in basic skills will build up confidence, and help to avoid any emotional blocks while learning maths in the future.
