It is 1877, and the Confederacy has reached the shores of the Great Lakes. The forces of the evil Grand Wizard are tearing through the Union heartland, with the Union troops fleeing before the flames of the southern pyromancers. After Jared Gilsom infiltrates the besieged city of Boston, he finds himself where he never wanted to be-in possession of the knowledge that may save the United States. But victory will come at a cost. To get others to listen, Jared and his friends must risk their lives again and again as they fight with everything they have to save their country from the fire. But the dark power gripping the Confederacy has its own vision of how the war ends. When the American Mage War comes to its conclusion, will there be anything that survives the flames?
