The New Life Paul Donovan
The New Life
Paul Donovan
David, whose Internet café is barely turning a profit, fears persecution because he keeps the Sabbath. He struggles to wake up so as to make his way to the church service; no longer affluent, his clothes are shabby, about which he feels self-conscious. The church fellowship has been in decline since the disappearance of the founders and many of the members. Some believe that they were 'taken away' by God. David recalls simpler days when many people attended the church and when he fell in love with Alicia, one of the few attractive women to join their sect. Disillusioned with the church, and lacking faith, David questions his involvement and decides to leave. Alicia visits him at home and they make love. Shortly after, he decides to leave the church and devote himself to the pleasures of the flesh. But will this newfound joy last or is there a new life waiting for him?
