Saved, Sanctified, and Depressed Preston Davis

Today's pastor must be well versed, experienced, and yet studying this thing called life. It should not be a surprise to us that suicide, teen pregnancy, drug, and alcohol abuse, as well as designer drug use is at an all-time high. At the core of all these social issues there is yet one that has disguised itself as a shy character flaw. We are missing it from the pulpit week in and week out. People are exiting the churches by the masses now for fear and insecurity. Men in general are walking aimlessly in their faith and some are simply walking completely away. What has been the undetected agent that has caused so many to give up, walk away, and even take their own lives? After all, they seemed so happy at church last time we saw them. They were smiling and being sociable. This is all too regular inour headlines. Same song and dance, but no answers. Being saved is great, being sanctified could never be replaced, but can one be both and depressed also? Though it sounds unheard of, and it should not be so, the answer is YES, IT IS! One can absolutely be Saved, Sanctified, and Depressed.
