Mission Without Conquest
Willis Horst
Marc Notes: Almost sixty years ago, the Mennonite missionary team working in the Argentine Chaco decided to look for ways to be effective in their ministry and at the same time faithful to Jesus' lifestyle and teaching. They left behind paternalistic models and 'conquering' methods and were liberated from the need to form a 'denominational church.' As a result, they found an alternative missionary style that consisted in walking together with others who are also involved in the search for life, giving priority to the integrity of people and persons. The title of this work synthetically expresses not only its content but also this new way to approach the missionary task of the church - a way that makes of Jesus Christ's mission the paradigm for the Christian mission until the end of the age. Contributor Bio: Frank, Paul Frank is a dermatologic surgeon at NYU Medical Center.
