In a rural Mormon town in Utah, a non-religious girl struggles with spirituality and self-identity amongst her peers and within her dysfunctional family. To cope, she leans on science and Greek mythology, casting those around her with god-like traits, including the charming Mormon boy next door that she crowns as Apollo. Falling for him isn't in her carefully calculated plans, but over the span of several years, they develop a bond that possesses the power to both heal her heart and break it at the same time.
