Perhaps you might picture pioneer suffragists like Susan B. Anthony, Carrie Chapman Catt, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Sojourner Truth, or others who fought in the struggle to secure the right for women to vote.

What comes to mind when you hear the word feminism? The concept tends to generate a visceral response, either in favor or against. It can be so controversial partly because there's no agreed-upon definition for feminism. Politicians, news media, and others often use the word to incite an emotional response. We rarely stop to think about what it means to be a feminist, or more importantly, what a pro-feminist approach could mean for women (and men). This book is intended to explore that opportunity and its positive potential.
