When Marek begins having dreams about being at a funeral, surrounded by people he doesn't recognize, he starts to suspect the images might be linked to his family's past. The search into his family's roots reveals their flight from the Nazis, his great-grandfather's tragic death, his grandfather's business success, and the family's lost fortune. This outward search turns inward as Marek seeks out a Chinese meditation master living in the secluded mountains of Northern California. With the master's help, Marek experiences memories which reveal a long lost family secret that couldchange his entire life.
