First, I got this strange letter from an anonymous person, then, I was chased by a giant dark figure, and lastly, I was thrown down a hole, and ended up in a strange place, where I meet this terrifying, blue girl with no irises.

There were dead, black trees everywhere with dead roses around them, and the sky was blood red. The ground was an even darker shade of red, and hazardous thorns were everywhere. Everyone here was different shades of blue and seemed to live normal lives. I wondered where I was, and who was this girl?"



Imagine a world like yours, but darker; a parallel universe where the stuff of your nightmares wants to kill you. Your only hope is some new, strange friends. This is Jani Topia's life. An orphaned girl from Suns Creek, Jani receives a cryptic message calling her to Shadows Forest where she first encounters a Shadow. She runs for her life and falls into another world.

Though comforted by eerie similarities to her own world, like her mother's cookies, Jani uncovers countless mysteries in Shadows Creek. Why are Jani's eyes different colors? Why are all the roses in Shadows Creek dying and what really happened to her parents? Revealing dark, family secrets, forging new allies, and fighting battles with weapons from out-of-this-world, Jani and her blue friends courageously struggle to save her life, their newfound friendship, and the people of Shadows Creek.
