Just as declaring someone trustworthy is a greater compliment than saying they are loved, for God to declare us "lovable" is a far greater compliment than to call us "loved."

His humble love working through us makes us irresistibly lovable to Him. What! God's love is humble? Yes!

"By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world's goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him?" - First John 3:16-17 -

God's compassion reaches us in our self-consumed and miserable condition, riding on the strong back of His humble love. Then, our grasping the slightest hint of His humble love compels us to move beyond our joyfully declaring His great love for us and forces us to question, "How lovable am I? Really?"
