The problem of mathematical horror has become more pronounced in recent time. This book seeks to bring the necessary psychological and didactic remedies, while studying the origin of the disorder, once the understanding of a defect will only be complete when we discover what gives rise to it. The idea here is not to teach Mathematics but to discuss what makes it a bogeyman for many people. The book also seeks to scrutinize the teaching and learning of Arithmetic in the final years of the primary course and in the passage of this to the next level, the junior high school, for it is at this stage that the child tends to break his friendly relationship with the subject. There are many studies in the way of the solution and this is obviously one more, but here the roots of evil are unearthed, what allows us finally to implement an efficient prophylactic policy.
