The book REMINISCENCES, FILMS & STORIES CRITICISM is a collection of 30 articles in Farsi written from 1993 to 2003. It is in 3 parts: Memory lanes of 10 prominent personalities and places I had met and visited. The list includes: Soraya, Takhti, Theodorakis, Dr Saedi, Oskooyees, Viguen, Farrokhzad, Mohasses, Akhavan Salless, Mahjubi, and Shamlu. The places are Sharaf High School, a Qajar mansion in Tehran and the 1960 Tehran student strike. The book reviews a century of satire, political cartoons and humor poems. It is in 400 pages with 20 pictures. The second part surveys the Iranian films releases in the last 50 years with an emphasis on Farrokhzad, Quartet Cinematographers, and Granaz Mousavi. It critiques some of the movies and documentaries, using structural analyses. The last part is literary criticism of stories in the 21st Century Iranian literature. ** Baran's poetry is a bridge between the present and the past. The past includes his childhood, his long Iranian culture, and his youth studying in the West. He is a lyrical poet, whose work has been frequently published in the literary sites in Iran, North America, and Europe. His poetry is based on love imagery, full of memories of the bygone days in the motherland.
