I think something went inexplicably wrong. My height should not be growing overnight - at least not by 10 centimetres a night. Today is the first day of the exam week, the day when I first found out that my life went out of order. "No," he reminded me, "not the first time." When did my height change? Or, when did my life begin to derail? I suddenly found out that the world seems to have already been lost for me many times. Five days of exams, seventeen years of life, three relationships. Looking back into the past, I think I have to get back to the normal life. And "he" also embarked on his own journey into the unknown. Our goal is simple: go back to the normal. But has anyone asked: What is normal? This novel puts a lens on one week of life of a few Chinese students in Singapore, reflecting their everyday details, love and relationships, daily routines and hassles, and some aspects of socioculture in Singapore. Tailoring upon the real-life experience, and adopting a parallel structure of the dual narrative, the work sincerely asks: What should be the relationship between people, between people and the world, and between people and themselves?
