Five years after being involved in the first Martian murder, David Harper returns to the red planet, this time working for the United Nations. The small basic set-up on Mars has grown as competing powers intrigue in the race to colonise. As an expert on Artificial Intelligence robotics he is again partnered with the now improved android, Robin. When a beautiful young visitor is shot, David and Robin are faced with the complex task of finding both motive and murderer.
