Updated as of May 29, 2018 The Department of State is issuing this interim final rule amending the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) relating to brokers and brokering activities and to related provisions of the ITAR. These amendments clarify registration requirements, the scope of brokering activities, prior approval requirements and exemptions, procedures for obtaining prior approval and guidance, and reporting and recordkeeping of such activities. Conforming and technical changes are made to other parts of the ITAR that affect export as well as brokering activities. The revisions contained in this rule are part of the Department of State's retrospective plan under E. O. 13563 completed on August 17, 2011.
