Chapter 2 Pinyin (Phonetic): Explain Chinese pinyin symbols and how to use them. Chapter 3 Basic Grammar: Explain 12 types of word and their usage. Chapter 4 Phrase, Clause, and Sentence: Explain their classification, usage, sentence structure, and some techniques of making a sentence. Chapter 5 Vocabulary: List vocabulary under 18 categories. Chapter 6 Conversation: Provide conversation for 26 topics. Chapter 7 Common Words: Provide more details for some commonly used words as verb, adjective, adverb, preposition, and helping word. Chapter 8 How to Make A Sentence: Explain how to make declarative, imperative, question, and conditional sentence. Chapter 9 Common Phrases and Idioms: List more two-word/three-word phrases and idioms. Chapter 10 Punctuation: Explain 7 punctuation marks and their usage. Author has read some Chinese textbooks. Most books were emphasizing on conversation, not on the basics of Chinese, such as pinyin, grammar, and how to make a sentence. Besides this, information is scattered in different books, making it hard to learn Chinese. It is the purpose of this book to make a concentrated and systematic introduction of Chinese. Author wrote a book about learning English (English for Beginners). In this book, sometimes it mentions the difference between the language of Chinese and English. It should help anyone who knows English to learn Chinese faster. The information author used in writing this book are: a Chinese dictionary, documents from websites, and some Chinese textbooks.
