These stories are about people I have known and experiences I have had. They are fiction, but not untrue. "Shorty's Prayer" is about a wicked hillbilly minister's unrequited love for a beautiful married woman, set in the mountains of western North Carolina, at a family reunion. "The Noise of the Rain" is about a detective trying to solve a series of murders. "Tobias" is science fiction, about resurrection. "Sweetpea's Best Christmas" is about how my wife and I were found by a cat. We hope you will be surprised and get a little joy out of every one!
