"The failure, Mr. Vander Heide, was not in yourself, but in your methods. You have not been working according to the law of success."

- Annie Kelley, The Law of Success

The Law of Success by Wallace D. Wattles, who's best known for his classic masterpiece The Science of Getting Rich, is a short story that was first published in 1908 in The Scrap Book, a monthly magazine published by Munsey's in the early twentieth century.

It tells the story, as only Mr. Wattles could tell it, of how Annie Kelley, a young, successful stage actress, taught Paul Vander Heide, a struggling, unsuccessful story-writer the law of success.

If you've tried and failed, "the failure," to quote Miss Kelley, is "not in yourself, but in your methods. You have not been working according to the law of success."
