This is a fictional account of the genocide of the people of La Vendee during the French Revolution of 1789. It is said that more than one million men, women and children in La Vendee were ruthlessly killed by the French Republic because La Vendee refused to give up their Catholic religion and bow before the secular revolutionary government. G. A. Henty was a popular British writer of books for boys in the late 19th Century. He also wrote of American and other heroes of various ages. This book is the third in a series of "Books For Boys" by various authors who promote the cause of manhood, courage, devotion to the cause, patriotism and the Christian Faith.
