WHAT FUELS YOUR PRAYER? I was in a church recently. The prayer leader took twenty out of thirty minutes to pray about witches, wizards and enemies. He used the remaining ten minutes to pray for his personal and family needs. All the prayer in that church that day was fueled by anger and hatred. Is this the type of prayer God expects from us? Have you ever wondered why people pick up guns and head to our schools? Have you given thought to the motivating factor for suicide bombers world-wide? I do not know about you but for me, I have never seen an angry mob pray for its victim before killing the person. I have never seen fanatics pray for their victims before beheading them. Have you asked yourself, as a Christian, what the difference is between you and those mentioned above? An Lawyers rightly say that you cannot give what you do not have. Boko Haram, Al Qaeda, Taliban, ISIS, etc are only giving bombs and bullets because that is what they have. How are we different from them?I saw another thing. This time, in the Bible! I saw that there are over forty spiritual gifts a believer can get. I observed also that one out of the lot covers every other and manifests in a unique way. And that is one major point we miss when hoping to move God in prayers. On one occasion, out of curiosity, I asked a pastor what fueled his murderous and selfish prayer points.
