I wanted to know the motivation and attitude of foreigners who are working as an ESL teacher in Thailand. Did I send them a questionnaire? No, I didn't. Instead I posted a series of questions and statements on several Facebook groups, and listened to the group members answers. I was surprised. I was shocked. I was horrified. Are these the people who are teaching children in Thailand? Are these the people who are representing our countries in Thailand?I'm sure you will be as surprised, shocked and horrified as I was, but I'm also confident that you will be amused by some of the conversations. This book is an effort of the TESLIT program (Teaching English as a Second Language in Thailand), to determine the motivation and attitude of foreigners working in Thailand, as TESLIT aims to deliver better prepared teachers to the Thai educational system, in an effort to help Thai students and schools to get better teachers, and our native countries to get better representatives in Thailand.
