Parables for Panty Sniffers Shades

I wrote these vinyettes (stories under four-hundred words), in Kihei, Maui (Hawaii) during May of 2008. A few months later I went to a Kinko's in San Louis Obispo, California and had them print up one hundred copies which I sold on the sidewalk there for six dollars apiece. I challenged people (once I could pry their attention away from their listening devices and cell phones...) by telling them: "I dare you to read the first sentence of any of these stories and see if you can stop." Most of them couldn't and I sold out in a week.
