After a career in education - much of it spent working with special needs children -Ann Williams now devotes a large part of her life tending the plants in her garden not far from Pendle in Lancashire. But this talented mother-of-three is also an accomplished artist whose highly imaginative, sometimes quirky, paintings are much in demand. When she lays down her trowel and fork, as likely as not she will then pick up her paintbrushes. But there is a strange irony.
