A wide variety of information is found in order books including appointments of county and militia officers, records of legal disputes heard before the county court, appointments of guardians, apprenticeship of children by the overseers of the poor, naturalizations, road orders, and registrations of free Negroes. This volume contains entries from Middlesex County Order Book No. 2, 1680-1694 beginning on page 241 and ending on page 465 for Courts held March 1, 1685/6 through April 7, 1690.
