It is 1884, widower Alexander "Sandy" Watson is enjoying time at home with his seven children when he is alerted of a murder in the nearby town of Sarasota. As sheriff of this Florida frontier land, he must act quickly in order to conduct a proper investigation and apprehend the guilty.




Sheriff Watson soon discovers a sinister group plotting to dispose of their political opponents. They have killed twice already and have more names on their list. Watson is determined to solve this case and restore order, but his confidence is shaken when it is revealed that his negligence in investigating a previous crime is connected to this murder's success.




Will Watson regain his composure in time to apprehend these devilish conspirators before the next person on their list is dead? Is he able to calm a frightened community while he grapples with his own guilt?
