As leaders envision the transformation of their organizations, the book conveys the importance of adopting the Agile Digital Enterprise system (ADEs) as the destination for the transformation. By developing the attributes of an ADEs, organizations will better capitalize on the potential of their people, processes and digital technologies to achieve superior levels of agility, innovation, responsiveness, customer orientation, employee engagement and change-readiness capabilities.

The book describes the attributes of an ADEs, when organization demonstrates some key attributes, as follows:

The book also introduces the Business Transformation Canvas (BTC) as a framework to help organizations to take a holistic approach to their transformations. The BTC framework ("the how to") helps leaders to conceptualize, design and successfully execute the transformation of their organizations.

The BTC facilitates the process of a vision-led journey, especially by integrating a variety of interdependent building blocks to be addressed during the transformation.
