The story of a light skinned slave's mother gets sold to a whore house in New Orleans. Jack's mother was already pregnant before Jake bought her. Jake raised Jack as his own so he didn't know his mother was a slave until
after Jake died. He goes back to take over the plantation his mother came from. Passing as a white man Jack is determined to change things despite if his life is in danger.
