Maternity is a period during pregnancy and shortly after childbirth. During birth, the newborns may have complications like lack of oxygen, birth trauma and infections. During this time period, the mother may face various health issues such as postpartum bleeding, deep vein thrombosis, postpartum depression, posttraumatic stress disorder, etc. There are various measures taken to avoid such health issues affecting the child and the mother.
