Mecklenburg county was formed in 1763 from Anson County and in turn Tryon County was formed from Mecklenburg in 1769. This book is about the persons who settled in the valley between the Yadkin and Catawba rivers more than two hundred years ago. To make this book more useful, the author has included an index with over 5,000 entries of the persons within.
