It was simple living and more social. Living was natural as people used to sleep on rooftops, lived in mud houses, and harvested rainwater. Marriage had another institution of muklawa. The homegrown industry was thriving, such as cotton thread making with charkha and then weaving cotton bed mats or floor mats, desi ghee making, wheat flour grinding, vermicelli production, jaggery production, phulkari embroidery, etc. Entertainment was of native origin.
