Learning to Breathe Sue Fries
Learning to Breathe
Sue Fries
Do you know what you would do if your child stopped breathing? Susan Fries not only was confronted with this reality, but also experienced it with the added trauma from her own childhood memories of desperately gasping for air during asthma attacks. She was devastated to learn that her son would experience the very same suffering she endured, along with her older sister. However, being on the other side of the issue as a parent, Fries realized just how much needed to be done to protect her son's life. We all can learn empathy and safe practices to care for each other in a society where 250,000 die from asthma each year. Fries personally takes on the task of advocating for better precautions in schools, informing parents on what makes a difference in the home and raising awareness in the public.
