The elderly founder of the Texas Macedonia Baptist Church, Dr. Marshall I. Franks, is retiring and is looking to expand his church's influence. Little does Dr. Franks know that the people around him and his church are completely corrupt. The ministers, pastors, and other ministers, who should be doing God's work, are all doing their own dark activities, with their own hidden agendas. Braxton King examines what can truly happen to a religious community that has turned its back to God in view of what is desirable. The Blackest of Times spins a complex web of lies, deceit, and intrigue that is the unseen darkness inside this religious community as well as frightening possible future for those who do not repent. King constantly has Dr. Franks and the reader guessing on who is on God's side and who is not. Will Dr. Franks save his community from sin and the coming Rapture? Or will evil rule the day?
