This In-School Enrichment Curriculum for in-school suspension focuses on providing young people with the life skills and proper tools they need to be healthy, productive and constructive. Life skills are important because they give children and young people more control over, and ability to improve, their lives. Learning the proper life skills will have a significant impact on the behavior and choices of our children and young people. The curriculum focuses on skills which build character, strength and knowledge about setting goals and obtaining a successful future. Children and young people need these skills in order to achieve their aspirations, especially in a world filled with distractions and peer pressure. The Life Skills topics chosen for this curriculum were selected because of the many issues and concerns plaguing our schools and hurting the morale of the students and the teachers. Facilitating proper life skills will help to reduce the problems schools are experiencing. Teachers will have more control in the classroom, and students will be better equipped for learning.
