Eleven-year-old Vhan Zeely is unhappy with her dull life and bored by what seems to be an endless summer. When the McPreveys and their two obnoxious boys move into town, however, life on 2nd Street changes forever. Vhan soon realizes her parents have been keeping a secret from her-a secret she is determined to uncover.
