G. A. Henty was a 19th century novelist, special correspondent and Imperalist. His best-known works are historical adventures. This story revolves around the War for Independence. Bunkers Hill, Treton, the capture of Philadelphia, Saratoga, Savannah, and South Carolina are locations in this story. This story is told by Major Steadman who served under Howe and Cornwallis. Unlike most books written about the American Revolution this account it told from the British perspective. For this reason alone this is an important book for anyone interested in American history.
