Skidmore is a retired ordained pastor in the Missouri Conference of the United Methodist Church. She graduated from Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Missouri with a B. M. degree in 1975 and in 1989 completed her Master of Divinity at Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri. She studied with C. Peter Wagner and others at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California and earned her Doctor of Ministry in 2001. In 1997 she was honored with receiving the Harry Denman Evangelism Award from the Missouri West Conference for her work in church growth and evangelism. She is a Bible teacher, writer, and seminar speaker.
