Several thousand solar systems have declared their intentions to leave the Republic. This separatist movement has made it difficult for the Jedi Knights to maintain peace and order in the galaxy. An assassination attempt on Senator Amidala causes the Supreme Chancellor to assign Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, to protect her. Obi-Wan's search for the assassin leads him to the planet Kamino, where he discovers an army of clones is being built for the Republic, Obi-Wan follows bounty hunter Jango Fett to the planet Geonosis, where he is captured. When Anakin, Amidala, and the Jedi Knights attempt to rescue him, it is just the beginning of the Attack of the Clones.
