Creating Success in the Classroom!: Visual Organizers and How to Use Them Sharon Walker

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then visual frameworks may be seen as being useful teaching tools. Teachers can use these graphic organizers to demonstrate how ideas and information about a specific problem, passage, text, or unit of study is related and organized. This work introduces 12 visual frameworks, and describes and demonstrates how they can be used with the whole class, small groups, or individuals. Practical tips and specific examples from several curriculum areas are provided - assessment techniques are also covered. The frameworks aim to help students organize their thinking, take notes, arrange and prioritize the information they gather. These activities can be used in a variety of classroom situations with little preparation. It is designed to make teaching more effective, and should appeal to elementary school educators, and also a resource text for education courses at a college level.
